Saturday morning I got up bright and early to be out and running before I had to go to work.  Madre, Marty, and Diane meet me at our usual running spot and we set out. I wanted to take it slow and easy because I had a half marathon the next day, so Marty and I did 2:1 intervals at a slower pace, average 12:49/mile.

I counted this run as Station 7 in the Get Lost in Running Virtual Race Series. If you haven't checked out this awesome series, check it out!!!

You can check out some of my other stations here:
Get LOST in Running Station 1 - Hydra 4k
Get LOST in Running Station 2 - Arrow 8k
Get LOST in Running Station 3 - Swan 15k
Get LOST in Running Station 5 - 23k
Get LOST in Running Station 8 - Looking Glass 8.15k

May Get Out & Run Virtual 5k

I went over to Madre's new neighborhood for our evening run. We started running on the street but ended up running on the golf course path. There are much more opportunities for festive pictures on the golf course!

We saw the little building (which is a bathroom), a few bridges, a beautiful sunset, a deer, and Madre rolling down a hill. There were lots of hills, but it felt great to run up them! I ended up running a 5k and counted it towards my US Road Running Get Out & Run 5k. It was hilly, but an easy-paced run, and I felt like I could have kept going :)

Madre and I both wore our SparkleSkirts, which always makes you feel festive and fast!

Boston Marathon World Run Virtual 5k

Monday was the Boston Marathon. Of course I will never be able to BQ and I don't have enough initiative to raise money for a charity bib, but I wanted to be a part of the excitement and support the event and runners. I signed up for the Boston Marathon World Run and pledged to run a 5k.

I walked to the commuter lot and met a fellow MRTT runner, Amanda, and we completed our 5k. She kept me pretty fast, with a 10:44 pace. We ran 2:1 intervals. I was definitely huffing and puffing along for this run because of the speed, but it was good to get out and do something. I have a half in 2 weeks and hope I am ready for it!

But I was pain-free, which is a good thing from a few weeks ago when I was hurting all over. AND I got to wear my new sparkleskirt :)

Did you get in a run for Boston? #bostonstrong #weruntogether

RnR Las Vegas Kick-off Virtual 5k

The Rock 'n' Roll Marathon series was having a Las Vegas Kick-off Night Celebration with 5k runs all over the Las Vegas area. They also hosted a virtual option where you could run a 5k wherever you live and get a free t-shirt! So of course I signed up!

Maestro and I went off for a night run around the neighborhood (dressed in lots of reflective and light-blinking gear, of course!). Our pace was a bit slow, but we did run 5k the night before, and Maestro was tired from going to the groomers earlier that morning. But we finished our 5k and submitted our time!

The weather was gorgeous - in the 60s. I was very comfortable in shorts and a t-shirt. Finally, nice weather!

Get LOST in Running - Hydra 4k

I signed up for the Get LOST in Running Virtual Race Series. Based on the TV series LOST, there are six stations, each one connected to one of the famous numbers. 4 8 15 16 32 42. Every race is a little longer. There is a medal associated with each station, and a final medal for completing the series. I will have lots of bling to display at the end! This is also a good way to keep up motivation while I train!

This past weekend Maestro and I completed Station 1 of the series - the Hydra 4k. We went to Prince William Park and ran on a trail, which probably wasn't the smartest idea. There were a lot of hills! But I guess it is good training for my endurance and should probably do each run here. Especially since I have a 10-mile trail run in August ... Maestro did a great job keeping up and had a good time.
