Welcome to my world of running, life, and all things Disney :) |
I ran this Virtual Race as part of Moonjoggers. It was to support Adler, a boy who is fighting cancer. Adler loves stripes, so I made this stripped skirt to wear in support of his fight. I ran this on the bike path near my house, as well in a neighborhood near mine. I had to stop to take a picture of this house. This is only one part of their yard. The other half was also covered with figurines and other lawn items. It was pretty crazy! This was a pretty good run, but I remember being exhausted upon completion.

This weekend Nathan and I went to Locust Shade Park for some fun in the sun. Actually, it was cloudy and could have started to rain at any time, but that is not the point!
This park features a driving range, 18-hole mini-golf, and batting cages, among other activities such as hiking, fishing, and paddle-boating. We decided to get a "Fun Pass" for the cheap price of $12, which allowed us each to hit 30 balls at the batting cage, get a small bucket of balls for the driving range, and a round of mini-golf. It was inexpensive, but a great time. The rain held off and it wasn't terribly hot. I saw this challenge posted online. I thought it would be good to try to help alleviate my laziness on some days. I think it will also be good for my Dopey training because I have to be able to run when I am tired. Want to join me in this challenge? It's only a mile ... and it can be slow, as long as it is a run. Sunday, May 26 1:01:01 - 3.44 miles walking through PW Forrest Park Monday, May 27 60 minutes - mowing the lawn 25 minutes - pulling weeds/sweeping 11:15 - 1.01 miles running - Day 1 of Streaking 15:20 - .75 miles walking Tuesday, May 28 11:21 - 1 mile treadmill running - Day 2 of Streaking 14 minutes - 1.25 miles on the elliptical 18 minutes - 3 miles on the stationary bike 30 minutes - weight training Wednesday, May 29 14:25 - 1 mile treadmill slow jogging - Day 3 of Streaking 9 minutes - .5 miles walking 5 minutes on the rowing machine 12 minutes on the elliptical - 1 mile 20 minutes weight training Thursday, May 30 12:14 - 1.06 miles - Day 4 of Streaking Friday, May 31 13:01 - 1.09 miles - Day 5 of Streaking Saturday, June 1 11:33 - 1.18 miles - Day 6 of Streaking 20 minutes of swimming laps - .25 miles (400 meters) 8 minutes - 1.15 miles of biking This streaking challenge was hard, but also really good. There were days when I REALLY did not want to go out, but I always felt great after the run, so in the end it is motivating. Week 1 is complete! School will be over soon-ish (2.5 more weeks), and then my training really starts and I will be doing some longer runs than just a mile because I will have more time!
