Welcome to my world of running, life, and all things Disney :) |
I just signed up with early registration to run in Disney's Wine & Dine Half Marathon and Mickey's Jingle Jungle 5k! Woohoo! I am excited to be running the Wine & Dine half this year and experience the 5th Anniversary of the race! I also love night races and enjoyed my Tower Of Terror and Happy Haunted Trails double races last year!

The vegetarian option for San Angel Inn is an open faced burrito on corn tortillas. It includes refried beans, squash, peppers, and onions. If they don't put too many peppers and onions it is pretty good. The chips are also gluten-free.
We were lucky that our trip coincided with the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot. Unfortunately for me, the only thing that I could safely eat was the Orange Whip and Fresh Watermelon Juice. But, my family was able to enjoy the food. A lot of these pictures are courtesy of Marty :) Since I couldn't eat anything from the Food & Wine Festival, Nathan and I stopped at the San Angel Inn for dinner.
We have to order of menu because there are no gluten free or vegetarian options listed. The chef made me an open faced burrito with delicious black beans, carrots, squash (and peppers and onions that I mostly pushed to the side). There is a small corn tortilla under there somewhere! Paired with chips and salsa, I was very full after finishing! Nathan just ordered a tortilla soup, which I forgot to take a picture of. He described it as taco tomato soup and thought it was very delicious As we were leaving Epcot, we noticed that there was NO line for the Character Spot. Score! Lots of pictures with some friends, without having to wait in line! Nathan and I had a great time at Disney World! We love having annual passes and being able to go whenever we want.
My weekend at Disney World finally came! Madre and I left DC Thursday night and arrived in Orlando very excited! On Friday morning Heidi, Madre, and I went to the Art of Animation for brunch, then headed over to Disney's Wide World of Sports to pick up our race packets. We got there about 30 minutes before it opened, and their was already a line. New Balance was passing out tickets for those that wanted to get the Disney shoes, but I did not have money for that (but that is ok, they were already out of my size.) Maybe next race. After taking some pictures we picked up our packets and OVER-SIZED t-shirts (The small was 2 sizes too big and they wouldn't let us switch sizes. I mean c'mon, why were the sizes so over-sized??!) We then explored the "expo". I got a cute turtle running headband. After that, we went to the Magic Kingdom. We each got a Dole Whip Float, checked out the Trading Post for pins, and then went on Splash Mountain. We also went on the steam boat and the Haunted Mansion. We then took the monorail over to Epcot for Dinner. We ate in The Land. I got some rice, potatoes, and fresh green beans, along with a cookie. We then went on Nemo and Spaceship Earth before leaving for home. It had started pouring and we didn't want to stay out late. We didn't do terribly much but it was a fun day. I absolutely love spring time at Disney World, especially the Flower & Garden Festival at Epcot! I love the flowers, topiaries, and ambiance of the entire event!
For one week there was a special Easter Egg hunt around the world showcase. It was so much fun to look for the eggs and to see what characters they were!
There were also egg hunts for children where they got to search for prize-filled eggs! Christmas at Epcot is a fun time. Not only is the park decorated, each of the countries has a storyteller, which explains the holiday customs in that country. It is fun to go around and learn a little more about the world.
