The gym was not crowded, so I knew I would be able to stay on for as long as I needed, but the machines would only track time for an hour at a time! So I had to keep track of all my mileage and hours.
I ended up going 18.55 miles in less than 5 hours. I took a couple of bathroom/water fountain breaks, but mostly just kept going. I kept to a pace of under 16 minutes/mile and survived.
I went home and iced and stretched, and felt pretty good, albeit a bit tight. The next day my upper butt was a bit sore, but otherwise felt pretty good.
Time to taper - the Dopey race is in less than 2 weeks!!! I have one 10k race on New Year's Day, and a few short and easy runs, but other than that...time to start packing!!!
